Project SEVA has been feeding the impoverished and hungry at several area churches every month, and hosts the Annual Thanksgiving Dinner.
- Every last Saturday of the month at Hopewell Baptist Church.
- Every second last Saturday of the month at St. Colman Church.
- Every first and fifth Wednesday of the month at Morningstar Baptist Church.
Project SEVA also sponsors an open pantry program at the American Indian Education Center.
Presently, we serve free meals every month at St. Colman Church, Morningstar Baptist Church
and Hopewell Baptist Church. We organize a special Christmas meal at St.
Colman when we take pictures of families with Santa Claus, print and distribute them
while the wait. The smiles on faces are very rewarding. We have distributed blankets
to the homeless and needy for the last 20 years. One year Mayor Michael White joined us
distributing blankets to women who are victims of domestic violence. However, for the
last five years or more, we are distributing blankets every year in January around Martin Luther
King's birthday. Starting 2013 we will be distributing blankets to 22 locations including
homeless shelters around Gandhi's birthday in October. In keeping with "Seva Pratham Manav
Dharam (Serving humanity is mankind's primary religion)" we thank all the donors and
volunteers for making a difference in the lives of thousands. We need $25,000-30,000
every year to make this a reality and leave a legacy for the future generations to continue
making a difference.
